How do I make the Jawn dance follow the original video?
Choose Person or Pet, add one photo and select a quality in the tool above. The person version takes its movement from Monika Pilon’s backyard routine; Pet follows the corresponding upright-cat version. Your photo supplies the new identity. Both keep the wait, neck scratch and bounce through a fixed motion reference, so you do not need to film yourself or write a choreography prompt.
- Frame one dancerUse a clear adult photo from head to knees, preferably holding a drink, or a full-body cat or dog photo. Keep other people and pets out of the frame.
- Choose the model and check creditsPick Seedance 2.5 or MiniMax H3, choose an available resolution and confirm permission. The button shows the full credit charge before you generate.
- Review the motion and downloadCheck the face, cup grip and final bounce when the job finishes. Download the MP4 from your result; your saved job also appears in My creations.
Which photo works for the Jawn cat dance or a person?
For the Jawn cat dance, upload one cat or dog with its full body, ears, paws and coat markings visible. For a person, show a clear face and the body down to the knees, leaving room around the free arm. A drink already held at chest height helps define the grip. Bright, even light gives the model more usable detail than a filtered selfie or a distant subject.
- Person checklist: One consenting adult · head to knees · face unobscured · cup held visibly · room for both arms.
- Pet checklist: One cat or dog · whole body · paws visible · distinct fur markings · no human face in the frame.
What does the wait-and-drop sequence look like?
The joke depends on the quiet opening. The dancer scratches the neck, looks aside and briefly grins before the final sideways bounce. These examples show how a different character changes the expression while the backyard and fixed camera keep the scene recognizable. Watch the hand or paw and the held object as well as the face; those details can vary between versions.
Grey suit and a drink
An adult character in a grey suit scratches his neck, waits and bounces with a drink in the backyard. 12 seconds with the same music.
Burgundy shirt
An adult character in a burgundy shirt follows the same backyard pause, grin and knee bounce. 12 seconds with the same music.
Jacket and toy
A suited character follows the backyard routine while holding a toy instead of a drink. 12 seconds with the same music; the held object differs.
What does a Jawn dance video cost, and is any download free?
A generation costs 124–693 credits, depending on the model and resolution. The $9.90 pack contains 180 credits and covers one minimum-tier video from an empty balance. Watching the examples and selecting a photo are free; generating your own result uses credits. The table separates the actual pack purchase from the per-video equivalent on the Studio monthly plan, so the two prices are not confused.
| Model | Resolution | Requested length | Credits | Studio equivalent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2.5 | 480p | 12s | 125 | $3.47 |
| Seedance 2.5 | 720p | 12s | 281 | $7.79 |
| Seedance 2.5 | 1080p | 12s | 693 | $19.21 |
| MiniMax H3 | 768P | 12s | 124 | $3.44 |
USD equivalents use Studio monthly: $49.90 for 1800 credits. They are not standalone purchase prices. The finished MP4 follows the reference cut: about 11.87 seconds for Person or 11.71 seconds for Pet.
| Eligible signup allowance | 5 credits. This is below the minimum for a complete Jawn dance video; there is no free full-video download from this allowance. |

How do these Jawn dance tools compare?
Compare the routine as well as the price. Tools with the Jawn name can follow different dancers, use a different setting or generate a looser interpretation. This page follows the backyard drink-and-wait sequence for both subjects. The published figures below use each service’s own credit unit, so credit counts alone are not a dollar-for-dollar comparison. No result quality ranking is implied.

What can this template not do reliably?
This template does not support group photos, two dancers, custom choreography or a different background. A close selfie leaves the body and clothing for the model to invent. Even with a clear photo, the original performer’s facial features or the reference cat’s markings can remain. Hands, paws and the cup can distort during motion. Higher resolution adds pixels; it does not guarantee identity or correct anatomy.
If the face looks different, use a sharper, front-facing image with no heavy filter. If the cup or fingers merge, retake the person photo while holding a real cup with a visible grip. For a dog, show its muzzle, ears and paws clearly to reduce drift toward the reference cat. We have not measured a success rate for this template.
What else should I know before making a Jawn dance AI video?
Choose your photo before choosing a higher resolution. The same single-photo workflow applies to both subjects, but the original performance can influence details that the photo does not show. These answers explain identity changes, drink handling, pet anatomy, credits and sound so you can decide whether the template fits your image before starting a paid attempt.
Will a face-only selfie invent the rest of my body?
It can. The dance shows knee bends and arm swings, so a tight selfie leaves the model to infer your body and outfit. A single-person photo from head to knees is a better starting point. Increasing resolution does not supply the missing detail.
Could the face from the Jawn dance original remain in my result?
Yes. The reference contains a real performer, and full-person replacement is not guaranteed. The instructions require your photo’s face, hair, body and clothes throughout, but source-face residue is still possible. Check the side glance and grin before sharing.
Must I already be holding orange juice in the photo?
No, but a visible drink makes the grip easier to follow. The template asks for a glass of orange juice when none is present, which can lead to malformed fingers or an unstable glass. A clear photo holding your own cup at chest height is preferable; the contents do not have to be orange juice.
Can my dog do the Jawn cat dance without becoming a tabby?
Pet mode uses the cat’s movement while asking for the species, muzzle, ears and fur in your photo. A dog should retain its own appearance and stand on its hind paws. Cat markings or human-looking paws can still appear; use a clear, full-body pet photo and check the result.
Can I choose one dancer inside a group photo?
This page supports one adult or one pet per photo. It has no person-selection control and no second role. Crop to one subject only if the face, arms and knees or paws remain visible; otherwise use a separate photo.
Can I download a whole video using only the free credits?
The current eligible signup allowance is 5 credits, and the cheapest complete generation is 124 credits. This is below the minimum for a complete Jawn dance video; there is no free full-video download from this allowance. Failed or rejected tasks return their credits. A retry or another version starts a new charged attempt; an imperfect completed result is not automatically a failed task.
Can I choose a different version of the Jawn dance song?
This template restores the recording from the selected performance; it has no song-remix selector. To use another sound, mute the downloaded MP4 in your editor and align the new track’s drop with the bounce. Buying a generation does not grant rights to the song.
Where do “that’s the Jawn dance” and its song come from?
The backyard wait-and-drop version comes from Monika Pilon’s “On the dancefloor!” comedy clip. The song is “The JAWN” by Jerri; later AI remakes put cats, dogs and other characters into the same setup. That is the version meant by the Jawn dance trend on this page. It is distinct from a Philadelphia line dance and from the broader slang word “jawn”.
